Research complaints and concerns

We welcome concerns about research conduct, participant treatment, privacy, accessibility or the accuracy of published material.

How to contact us

Email info@iderafrica.com or write to Suite 402, 4th Floor, Atlantic Tower, Airport City, Accra, Ghana. State the study, publication or website page, describe what happened and tell us how you would like to be contacted. Include only information needed to explain the concern.

What the process should provide

Our complaint-handling standard is to record the concern, identify an appropriate reviewer, explain the next steps and communicate the outcome where we can. Access should be limited to those needed for a fair review. Confidentiality cannot be absolute where investigation or law requires disclosure.

Independent routes

For a study with an independent ethics committee, use the contact supplied in the participant information. Privacy concerns may also be raised with Ghana’s Data Protection Commission. Reporting a concern should not affect a person’s voluntary decision about research participation.
